Whew, beloveds. I was a little long-winded yesterday. Excuse the 1,000 word post, please. I am working on brevity but you wouldn’t know it after that one. So sorry – today’s post is short, short.
Sawyer, Solomon and I were eating a picnic lunch in our backyard today when I casually mentioned that we needed to go to the store to get some groceries.
“You need to get Lifesavers,” replied Sawyer.
For crying out loud.
I bought a bag of sugar-free Lifesavers (a true dentist’s wife) a while ago and Sawyer LOVED them. We ran out and he was devastated. I thought he forgot they even existed.
It got me thinking about lifesavers and how I could not ever survive without my own personal bag of lifesavers. They are not sugar-free but they do come in many varieties. I am blessed beyond belief to have so many of them in my life.
You know who you are. I can’t mention each of you by name because I know I would leave someone out and I would never want to do that. Let’s just say I am showered with the love and support of good friends.
I especially feel it now as so many of them are rallying around our family while husband is away hiking through Machu Picchu.
Nothing teaches my children about Jesus more than a group of people who are His hands and feet. Thank you for being my lifesavers.
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work; If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!”
Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10
Who are your lifesavers?
How nice to refer to those people as lifesavers. We all need a few in our lives. The best part is when you discover a lifesaver you never knew you had. I know my sister and my husband are mine.

What a good point, Marilyn – I have found some wonderful “lifesavers” that I didn’t really think of as lifesavers until they jumped in when I needed someone.
Love, love, love that verse! That’s one of the verses I’ve chosen to be read at my wedding!
I love, love, love it to! We can’t wait until your wedding!
Oh my goodness! What lead him to this adventure? I’ll certainly be praying for his safety and your sanity!! :)
It’s always been a dream of his – he is an outdoorsy kind of guy and loves to do stuff like this…We are not alike in this arena…
my mom would always be my lifesaver. we may have had some communication issues when i was younger (who doesnt?), but now, it’s so easy. i guess it’s the mommy connection, the same one that makes other moms reach to each other, even if they’re strangers.
oh, and there’s you. reading your blog reminds of the things i should never forget. thanks for helping me pray for the elections in my country. it was generally peaceful, even the police say so :)
