Like so many of you, I lost an hour yesterday.
You’re probably better at it than I am.
But it gets me every year without fail – I spend the entire day saying things like “How is it 3 o’clock already?” and I listen to ardent protests from my jipped kids as they explain that it couldn’t possibly be bedtime yet because it’s still light outside and everyone knows that you don’t go to bed when it’s still light outside for crying out loud…
I love falling back in autumn but admittedly, springing forward is not my most favorite thing to do because well…I need that lost hour, by golly.
Yet I’m reminded that the high today here in the Midwest is 71 degrees and I see my daffodils beginning to bloom and I think…
Yes. New growth.
Maybe I can handle that lost hour after all.
We’ve been listening to this song from Bethel Live for the past few weeks here at the Snapp house and I have to say, it gets me ready for those warmer temperatures and barefoot breezes.
And it also reminds me that it is indeed always springtime with Him because He makes all things new.
All things.
“This Is What You Do” by Bethel Live (featuring Matt Stinton)
It’s always like springtime with You, making all things new
Your light is breaking through the dark
This love it is sweeter than wine
Bringing joy, bringing life
Your hope is rising like the dawn
It’s always like springtime with You, making all things new
Your light is breaking through the dark
This love it is sweeter than wine
Bringing joy, bringing life
Your hope is rising like the dawn
This is what You do, this is what You do
You make me come alive
This is what You do, this is what You do
You make me come alive
This is what You do, this is what You do
You make me come alive
This is what You do, this is what You do
You make me come alive, You make me come alive
You make me come alive, You make me come alive
You make me come alive, You make me come alive
You make me come alive, You make me come alive
It’s like I’m living for the first time
Finally living for the first time
It’s like I’m living for the first time
Finally living for the first time
It’s like I’m living for the first time
Finally living for the first time
It’s like I’m living for the first time
Finally living for the first time
On this Multitude Monday, God, I thank you for:
691. Warmer temperatures
692. My first run outside with You in a while
693. Belly laughs as the three play “Angry Bigfoot” with their Daddy. Don’t ask.
694. Earlier bedtimes – for me.
695. Writing for Jill Savage’s radio program and getting to spend time with the others at Hearts at Home on Thursday
696. And also getting IRL (In Real Life) time with my sweet bloggy friend, Cherie.
697. The ways James challenges me
698. Our first night EVER alone in our home – thank you Lora and Brian for your courage to take all three at once. They had a ball and we did, too.
699. Missing our kids but enjoying the quiet and sleeping until 10 a.m.
700. “I love you more than gumballs!” shouted at me as I walked down the hall after saying good night to the youngest Snapp.
This week may you come alive with His help. May you remember that He makes all things new. May you feel warmth on your back – and in your heart.
Joining in with Ann and Jen…
