Last week, I couldn’t stop singing this song so I did a search on iTunes and found that, be still my beating heart, Jesus Culture sings a version.
Honestly, I tried to pick something different this week. Really. I just keep getting pulled back to Bethel Live and Jesus Culture because, well, both of those groups move me BIG TIME.
I know why God placed this song on my heart, too. The “Strong and Graceful Oaks” group through (in)courage is winding down our study of Isaiah 61 – the one where we learn that Jesus is a “freedom junkie.” When we walk around with all of that junk that holds us down and keeps us back and blocks us from really knowing who He is and what He holds true, it breaks His heart.
And to think He came to bind-up ours.
The images in this YouTube version are lovely, too.
May your chains clank to the ground, friends. May the sound be loud and may you feel the physical weight lifted from your shoulders because it happens. Trust me.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30
Sweet song, beautiful friend. Miss you!!!
SOOOOOOO miss you, too! How’s the job? Think of you often, sweet sister…
I shared that song on my facebook page it is powerful and in the midst of ‘our’ season we need to know power is from the Lord. NO one else.
Yes, it’s a lovely song of freedom in Him. Thanks for sharing and commenting, Sharon!
