When I first starting writing, I landed on a little site that drew me in with their real voices and not-ashamed-to-admit imperfections.

I found myself nodding my head and saying “Me, too!” when I read their posts. They put skin on my own inadequacies and made me feel as if I wasn’t so alone in this journey of being a contemporary woman of faith.

(in)courage is a wonderful community that supports women by coming alongside, reaching out, and reminding us of truth.  The truth that really matters.

I am honored to lead a beautiful group of women through an (in)couragers community—its been a blessing to meet new sisters from around the globe and spur one another on to live better by walking closer.

The next (in)courager session will begin in February and it will focus on walking through relationships in a manner that honors Christ. More details will be coming soon.

But today, I would like to invite you to join me during the weekend of August 26 and 27 for a time to grow together and be real through the (in)RL (which stands for in-real-life) Conference.  Friday night, you can tune-in at your place in your jammies with chocolate. Then on Saturday, we gather IN PERSON. The location will be based on how many will be attending so that information will follow in the future.

And it’s free.  Yep. It costs you nothing.

There are groups meeting all over the world during this same weekend so if you don’t live in my neck-of-the-woods, don’t fret it. There will be a group for you.

And if you do live around me? Consider this your invitation.

(in)RL was born out of two years spent listening to women in the comments  at (in)courage craving local, real life community.

Derived from the social media acronym “IRL” or “in real life,” (in)RL is an invitation to share what we’ve learned about community and encourage women with stories and suggestions for connecting deeper in real life.

Last year nearly 2,000 women from 24 countries participated.

Think of it as a girl’s weekend away that doesn’t require packing or plane tickets, where women can kick off any expectation of perfect, set aside their fears, their shyness, their worry that they’re not good enough, and find some of Jesus’ words of rest woven into every video shared here.

On Saturday meet up with old friends and new to spend a few hours in real life community. Think of it as a retreat where you don’t have to leave town. Just imagine thousands of women all over the world getting together in homes, coffee shops, restaurants, or churches – you name it – to connect in real life! We’ll be providing video content that meet ups can tune into, which explores the challenge to stay connected to our beautiful, messy, real life communities.
