Aren’t there just days when you wonder if you’re up to this job as a mother? Please tell me you have them, too. Tell me there are mornings when the alarm goes off and you want to fling it across the room. Tell me there are moments when you might be considered certifiably insane if you hear anymore bickering. Tell me there are times when you wonder if you will ever be able to exercise on a regular basis again. Please. Tell me I’m not the only one.
Yet.
The more I prioritize myself and the longer I send the message to my children that I love them dearly but they aren’t the center of the universe, the more breathing room I’m beginning to have.
And it makes me wonder: why didn’t I do this long ago?
Self-care is not a frivolous desire; it’s an integral need.
Try it. I think you’ll be amazed.
Do you need to sleep-in tomorrow?
I vote yes.
Last weekend, I discovered a great little store called “Hot Mama.” On the tag of the shirt I purchased was the message below.
I read it and thought, “Yes. Absolutely.” I know. Profound.
Have a good weekend, sisters. See you on Monday!
Amen!
