And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. – Matthew 6:7-8
Sometimes I don’t even want to hear what I need because way, deep down in the reserves of my soul, I know. And I don’t want to hear it.
Yet I also know it’s the process in the journey of healing or anything else worth doing, that makes all the difference so the fast forward button we all so longingly covet would actually add more time to the process and delineate any progress we hope to achieve. Process, not product.
The surrender and wait is hard. We sit and allow God to move into those empty places because He knows what we need even before we do.
Have you seen this video yet? It is HI-larious.
Sometimes we need someone to just listen.
Yet sometimes we need someone to lovingly speak truth.
The sweet spot is in the middle.
I hope this will add a chuckle to your day but most importantly, it will allow you to remember to remember: He knows what you need, sister.
Even before you do.
LOVE this! Thanks for the laugh! I like when she mentions that all of her sweaters are snagged!
That was my favorite part as well, Julie! TOO funny!
Thanks for reading and commenting!! Wonderful to see you here!
I just have one disappointment about this post. As soon as I read the title I was seriously convinced the picture you were going to use was the guy in Happy Gilmore who Happy shot with a nail gun.
Other than that, I loved this post. And you :)
Would you still be my friend if I told you I have never seen that movie? OK, so now I have to see it…Because if you like it, you KNOW I would. #kindredspirits
