So I love fall. And I strive to be Wonder Woman.
Which is why this combined post to tell you about two fabulous books that crossed my path recently is really just plain awesome because c’mon . . . Who DOESN’T want to be Wonder Woman?
And while we’re on the subject, did you have Wonder Woman Underoos? Because I did and I was so cool. I still am, of course, you know, in my really hip minivan with nasty stuff in the carpet and a horrid stench. Also, just so you know, I get called ma’am a lot.
Excuse the digression.
My friend, Denise, writes this fabulous blog about all things decorative and crafty. Obviously, this is not what drew us together as friends but I love her nonetheless and she doesn’t judge my lack of craftiness. In fact, she is completely non-threatening in a doesn’t-make-you-feel-bad-that-you-can’t-sew kind of way. Which, of course, is good for me because I can’t.
Excuse the digression again.
Together with Lori Ramsey, these two ladies have released the first of a five-part series that’s PERFECT for those of us that don’t have a ton of time to pour through House Beautiful and want ideas and recipes we can do RIGHT NOW. Not when I knock down walls and move to a new house but TODAY.
Here’s what they released last week:
And I have to say, we at the Snapp house are loving it. We made crockpot applesauce today and Denise is right – it was SUPER easy and SUPER yummy and it made my house smell like I’m a Wonder Woman matriarch…Which we all know is not entirely accurate so obviously, this is a powerful book, friends.

Speaking of WonderWoman . . .
I love Jenny Sulpizio. As a fellow contributor of the M.O.B. Society, I’ve gotten to know Jenny through her honest and real writing style–which you know I love.
Her new book, Confessions of a Wonder Woman Wannabe: On a Mission to Save Sanity, One Mom at a Time, is a must-read for all mamas at any stage of mothering, but as I read through Jenny’s humorous words, it struck me: this book is PERFECT for the new mother or mama who just quit her job and decided to stay home with her children full-time. I wish I could have gotten my paws on it about eight years ago.
And still . . . as a more experienced mother (i.e. OLD), I found myself nodding my head in agreement and thankful to read her words on PMS and caffeine – just to name a few.
I also have to say that I love the continual references back to Jesus because sometimes as busy moms, we forget He’s got us. There are oodles of books about being a mother out there but Wonder Woman Wannabe stands-out because it’s written in a girlfriend-to-girlfriend tone AND there’s doses of Jesus (which means hope and grace) peppered throughout.
Not to mention, this cover is awesome, isn’t it?

So . . . tell me . . . What do you love about fall? Or if you don’t want to talk about autumn, what makes you feel like you AREN’T a Wonder Woman these days?
Thank you for the lovely post Natalie! I do remember the Underoos – though I was a bit older at the time (showing my age here!)
I HAD THE UNDERROOS!!!!! I can remember wearing them and pretending to be Wonder Woman in my grandparent’s backyard!!!! Looking forward to checking out these books! I love fall! :)
Natalie,
You are so sweet. I really appreciate you taking the time to write up a post about the book. So kind and just like you to do something so sweet for a friend.
I can’t wait to read the other book you are featuring, so thanks for sharing about it.
One of these days we will see each other in real life again!
Love you friend!
I remember my Wonder Woman underoos!! I used to love watching her!! AND the Bionic Woman!!! Some days I feel like a Superhero and other days I feel like that person that got thrown by the bad guy… thanks for the ideas and suggestions on books. I could use some help feeling more like a super hero and still being able to spend quality time with my kids.
Wish the Autumn Bliss book was available in paperback or through Barnes & Noble as well. I don’t have a Kindle. I have a Nook. :(
Love this, Natalie! Thank you so much for your sweet words. Underoos rocked, didn’t they?! ;)
